Kembla seamless copper tube manufactured to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1571 as per the requirements of AS2896 is suitable for use in medical gas supply, medical suction or vacuum lines and supply of gas to surgical tools. Utilising unique manufacturing and cleaning techniques, Kembla Medical Gas Tube is cleaned and capped and exhibits with superior carbon and internal cleanliness to prevent gas contamination, spontaneous combustion of residual lubricant and oxygen under pressure and maintain hygienic transmission to patients.
Available in sizes 6.35mm up to and including 101.60mm as “Hard Drawn” and bendable “Half Hard” 6 metre straight lengths, Kembla Medical Gas Tube meets the dimensional and cleanliness requirements of the Medical Gas Installation Code AS2896 and is the premier brand of medical copper tube used throughout hospitals and health care facilities across Australia.

Installation should be performed as per the Medical Gas System installation code AS2896:
- During storage and handling of Medical Gas tube and fittings, particular attention must be given to keeping them clean and dry
- All brazing alloys shall comply with B4 alloy designation as specified in AS1167.1
- When brazing joints, commercial-grade carbon dioxide shall be used as an internal inert gas shield. Extreme care must be taken to ensure adequate ventilation, as high levels of CO2 are toxic and can cause suffocation
- Tools use for cutting or reaming shall be kept free from oil or grease
- Pipelines and fittings shall be selected to provide the required design flow of the entire health care facility
- Pressure and contaminant testing should be performed on installed tubing before final approval and use of system

An intensive ISO 9001 certified quality control system is applied to all MM Kembla AS 1432 copper plumbing tube to ensure all MM Kembla seamless copper tube is made from high residual phosphorous deoxidised copper classified as C12200 Alloy and conforms to AS1432 and Australian Watermark certification requirements.
MM Kembla warrants that if any installation using MM Kembla copper tube becomes defective or fails and MM Kembla is notified of the details and is satisfied that the defect or failure was a result of a manufacturing defect and not the result of faulty specification, installation or incompatible environment, MM Kembla will replace or repair the defective goods and make good the installation.
